The Bonham and Chamomile Spa

When I was invited to have lunch at The Bonham and to visit The Chamomile Sanctuary Spa in Edinburgh as part of the Champaign pamper package, I knew I wouldn’t be disappointed.

The Chamomile Sanctuary is tucked away in the heart of the west end, in an unassuming building, it would be so easy to just walk straight by. I need to tell you about this massage. I have a bad back. I have a nurses back at 22 and usually find it really sore to lie on my back Fiona (I’m sure that was her name, I forgot to write it down) has honestly changed me! I can lie on my back and I’m no where near as creaky and ouchy.

A manicure at Chamomile Sanctuary are just as special, what better way to revive tired hands than a bright pink polish? Not your thing? There are plenty more colours to choose from.

After our treatments, as part of the package we were whisked round to the The Bonham another hidden gem where we were treated to a 3 course meal. This boutique hotel is as every bit gorgeous inside, it looks over the dean village and dean bridge for those of you who know Edinburgh. Now, I have a secret to let you in on, people say I'm a really fussy eater, I don’t think I am, I can’t eat much dairy or fish but that rules out quite a lot when your eating out!

We arrived and had drinks in the new bar The Consulting Room and had a look at the Market menu, which changes everyday. We started with Cauliflower soup, which I'm not usually a big fan of, but was surprisingly delicious and a massive bowl, we couldn’t actually finish it knowing we had to more courses to come! Next up was Duck, which ask my friends I usually screw my nose up at, but I am a convert! It was truly scrumptious especially with the red cabbage. For dessert we were treated to iced nougat, which as a chocolate lover was something a bit different for me!

We both thoroughly enjoyed our meal, in gorgeous surroundings and were very well looked after. The market menu is £22.50 for a 3 course meal and I’d say its worth every penny especially if you treating someone.

Bar Kohl

Bar Kohl, 54 George IV Bridge
http://www.barkohl.co.uk

Bar Kohl is a fantastic cocktail bar that doesn’t break the bank. Cocktails start at just £4, so a round won’t cost an arm and a leg. The low price definitely does not mean low quality – drinks are always delicious and well presented. The staff at Bar Kohl are very friendly and always happy to recommend a cocktail if you can’t decide! My favourite is the “Old Skool”, a sour lemon and cola concoction served in a cute miniature tankard. Flavoured vodkas are their speciality – look out for all the different bottles behind the bar!

kohl

Bar Kohl has a really relaxed atmosphere and quirky decor, with exposed brickwork walls and comic strips pasted to the ceiling. They also serve great food (the Acapulco Burger is amazing!) so it’s the perfect place for a bite to eat in the evening as well as being a great cocktail bar at night.

Moo

Our bicycles spooning, I love a chance to show off my pink tyres!

After a cycle along the Water of Leith walkway, what better than to stop at  Moo for some brunch.

Washing down our brunch with mocha’s and hot choccy’s

Moo not only does the nicest breakfasts (full Scottish Im looking at you) and delicious cakes too but serves main meals and scrummy burgers! The ingredients are sought locally where possible and all the meals taste so fresh. If your looking for a nice place to sit, read and eat in Edinburgh, this is your place! Eteaket

Afternoon tea and cakes at Eteaket on Fredrick St is always a treat when your in Edinburgh.
Our order came in lovely cups and saucers, very vintage. The brownies were delicious,as was the tea! Im not a tea drinker but did enjoy my hot chocolate! The caramel tea smelt to die for! Eteaket is a great place to go on your own with your book if your feeling indulgent, have work to do? enjoy the free wifi! Need somewhere to take your granny? Here's your place!

I HEART CANDY

The start of the sweetie shops popping up around Edinburgh began with an addition to Hanover St. I ♥ Candy is the prettiest sweetie shop you’ll end. Its full of every sweetie you could think of, especially ones that have disappeared from your life!
Not only is the shop beautifully decorated, its also a really reasonable. You know some sweetie shops are extortionate? This one isn't.
I bought a milkybar, a bag of anniseeds (yum!), a fish and chip bag for mike and a little posh chocolate and it came to £2.25!
So not only having two gorgeous stores, you can also buy online!
You must check it out if your out and about in the city

The Roseleaf

Today we are stopping at The Roseleaf, on Sandport Place, The Shore, EH6 6EW
Lovely artwork on all the walls, you can hire a frame and put your own art work in it!
We found a wee table round the back and ordered food. Out come a grilled cajun chicken burger and "wee" Mac and Cheese. Yum! We both really enjoyed our food and the atmosphere. I can't wait to go back with the girls for a pottail - a cocktail in a teacup!
Everything is served on beautiful crockery!
Half eaten chicken burger… it was just that good!
Irn Bru in vintage style cans - sweet!
National Geographic Menu's are a delight!
The Roseleaf is grand for a local pint if your by the shore or if your peckish for some top notch pub grub.
